Quick replies and templates

Set up text shortcuts and approved templates to respond faster.

Quick replies

Quick replies are reusable text snippets you trigger with a shortcut (e.g. /greeting).

  1. Go to Settings > Messaging > Quick replies.
  2. Create a new one with title, shortcut, and content.
  3. In the chat, type / followed by the shortcut to insert it.

WhatsApp templates

To start conversations outside the 24-hour window, you need templates approved by Meta:

  1. Go to Templates > Create template.
  2. Define category (marketing, utility, authentication), language, and content.
  3. Submit for review. Approval takes between 1 and 24 hours.

Best practices

  • Keep quick replies short and with a consistent tone.
  • Review rejected templates and adjust the wording according to Meta policies.
